1) Places to visit in Darjeeling

Darjeeling is a must-visit place for anyone who is a traveler. If you are visiting Darjeeling you can visit many places adjacent to it. Dooars

Located at the Terai-Duar savanna and grasslands eco region this place is definitely for you if you love nature escape. The landscape of lush greenery is just bliss for the eyes. You can experience wildlife along with the beauty of nature. It comprises of places like vast tea gardens, hill slopes, tropical forest and old villages which will be an experience you will cherish always.

Sandakphu Trek

There are lot many treks in Darjeeling but the Sandakphu trek is an absolute delight. Situated at the border of where Manebhanjan starts in West Bengal this trek would end up with a landscape worth remembering at the height of 11,929 feet. Sandakphu is the highest peak in the West Bengal region where you will see the beautiful Himalayan ranges while you experience crazy thrill and view.

Tinchuley

Tinchuley situated at the Sikkim border is a hamlet a little away from the city. It has tea plants, fruit orchids, Teesta and Ranjeet river, and the Himalayan range. The weather there is mostly misty but you can witness an extremely beautiful sunset. You can be a part of different activities such as camping, mountain climbing, rappelling, and trekking. Padmaja Naidu HimalayanZoological Park

To revisit your childhood, you should visit Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park which is situated at Darjeeling-Jorethang road spreads to about 65.56 acres of area. This zoological park is home to red pandas, Himalayan salamanders, and snow leopards. It has 200 plus species of plants that include oak, alder, etc. it is closed Thursdays and timings to visit are 08:30 to 04:30 during summers and 08:30 to 04:00 and the basic entry fee is 20 rupees only.

Nightingale Park

It is a public park with a basic entry fee of10 rupees is a must-visit because of the magnificent view it offers of Kanchenjunga. It is a lush green park where you can also see a big lord shiva statue and musical fountain. This park is located near Richmond hill and is open from 07:00 am till 08:00 pm throughout the weekend.

Singalia National Park

This is the highest national park in the city at an elevation of 7,000 feet above the mean sea level. It is widespread up to79km along with the forest of Rhododendron. The alpine valley merges with the eye befitting Himalayan ranges. If your stars are aligned then you might be seeing red pandas and Himalayan black bears. Hunting is strictly prohibited here. There is some amazing trek from here on wards. The entry fee of the national park is 100 rupees for Indians and 200 rupees for foreigners and is open from 06:00 am till 07:00 pm and is closed from June to September.

Mahakal Mandir

The mahakal mandir is situated at the top of the observatory hills in the beautiful city Darjeeling. It is about 20 mins away from the main road, however, the trek to the destination is amazingly beautiful. On the way to the top hill, you will come across cottages and breathtaking views of the mountain ranges and if the weather is favorable you might walk between the clouds. The temple will give you vibes of spirituality and whilst you are on the way you might come across monkeys who would be active enough to snatch your belongings.The above-stated places area must-visit when you reach Darjeeling.
