Monika Bacardi has always believed that one’s luck should be used togive back to society. Therefore the Italian-born businesswoman and co-founderof AMBI Group has been actively involved in several causes and she undertakes gestures of solidarity to raise funds and awareness in favour of the social issues that are dear to her heart. In the last few years, she has been offering her support to dozens of charitable organizations.
Having lived in Monaco for the last twenty years, Monika Bacardi participates in a variety of projects along side and for the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. The Foundation's mission is to raise both the public's and the authorities' awareness of the impact of human activities on the natural environment and toencourage more environmentally friendly behaviour. In order to do so, the foundation promotes and encourages outstanding initiatives and innovativesolutions by awarding prizes and grants. The Foundation is mostly active in 3different zones, that each reflects a major issue that needs to be attended.The Foundation’s action in the Polar Regions and in the Mediterranean basinresonates in Monika Bacardi’s growing concern on climate change evolutions.
Monika Bacardi has offered to help raising funds and awareness on globalissues that are dear to her heart, such as limiting the effects of climatechange and promoting renewable energies, safeguarding biodiversity andfostering new ways of managing water resources to fight desertification.
Monika Bacardi decided to push forward her involvement towards the Foundation.
The first annual benefit gala, called AMBI Gala, in support of the Prince Albert II of Monaco foundationwill take place at the Toronto’s Four Seasons Hotel on Wednesday, September 9,2015.
Other special guests include award-winning actress Anjelica Huston, actor Omar Sy. Other specialguests to join HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco and honorary co-chairs Heidi Klum, James Franco, Mischa Barton, and Michael Madsen at the Gala. The singer Diana Ross and the talented actorMartin Short have been announced for the entertainment part.
