A highly trained medical professional with a diversity of training and expertise in his field, Dr. William Roy began his formal training at Birmingham-Southern College in Birmingham, Alabama, where he double-majored, graduating with honors and received a bachelor of science degree. He was next accepted to the University of Alabama School of Medicine, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine, receiving the Frank R. Sherrod Memorial Scholarship as an outstanding senior medical student.
Dr.Roy continued his training as an intern and resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky. Following his residency, he completed a fellowship in Advanced Pelvic and Reconstructive surgery in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the Emory University School of Medicine. He was then awarded the prestigious WellBeing Birthright Fellowship, out of highly qualified candidates from across the country, and published cutting edge research on the gentics of ovarian cancer based on work performed at the University of Southhampton School of Medicine in Southampton, England. On his return to the United States, Dr. Roy completed a Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship and performed research at The Yale University School of Medicine.

Dr. William Roy currently serves as Medical Director of Gyn Oncology at the Cancer Center in Mobile, Alabama. His prior academic positions include Associate and Instructor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Emory University Hospital, Crawford Long Hospital, and Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia and at The Yale University School of Medicine, was most recently Chief of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the residency program at Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield, California.
