Many of us love everything that looks beautiful, don't we? I'm still puzzled why I'm said to be overly obsessed with 'beautiful things'. The more correct term could be perfectionist but I feel I'm not really a perfectionist in several things in life, especially those that are less tangible.

I never realized how hunting for a gift can create so much pressure until recently. Over the latest holiday gift shopping period, a friend of mine came and shared her anxiety in finding the best gifts for everyone for the upcoming holiday season. I thought she is a rare isolated incident but a recent study generally seems to confirm that there are indeed many folks who found themselves in the exact same situation as my friend. When the year end Christmas shopping period is approaching, gift hunting has become a tormenting journey.

Having bought presents for my friends and loved ones on regular basis, I often get compliments about my gift choice and yet it's never occurred to me that gift shopping might be such a terrible experience. In reality, I enjoy taking a look at the genuine gift ideas that gift manufacturers have been coming up with over time.

Amused by the stress experienced by many through the gift buying process, I've recently launched a personal blog. I know there are lots of sites that you could find great gift ideas but I believe taste is unique to every individual. My blog serves two functions. First, it acts as my own database of the finest gift discoveries. Next, I'm sure it will be useful for everyone who knows they should purchase a present but is still confused what gifts to get.
